Privacy policy

Data controller

Data processed and purposes

Order: name, e-mail, phone, postal address, order content, preferred pickup date and time, any details you add. Purpose: to prepare, hand over and invoice the order, and to contact you if there is a problem. Legal basis: performance of the contract and legal obligations (accounting).
Customer account: e-mail, name, addresses, order history. Purpose: to let you follow your orders. Legal basis: performance of the contract, at your request. You sign in with a code sent by e-mail; no password is stored by the seller.
“Club de l’Écailler” loyalty programme: name, e-mail, orders, points earned and used, date of birth if you choose to enter it (for birthday points), referrals, and the follow or share actions on Facebook and Instagram that you choose to take. Purpose: to manage your membership, your points and your vouchers. Legal basis: performance of the contract (your membership of the programme, which is free and optional).
Quote, table booking or contact request: name, e-mail, phone, details of the event or booking, message. Purpose: to reply to your request. Legal basis: pre-contractual steps taken at your request.
Payment: card data is processed directly by the payment provider; the seller has no access to it.
E-mail offers: e-mail address and proof of consent. Purpose: to send you our commercial offers. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in each e-mail.

Allergies: if you mention an allergy or intolerance in the optional field of the cart or in a form, this information is used only to prepare your order or service.

Sale of alcohol: when your order includes wine, the confirmation that you are of age is recorded with the order, and an ID is requested at pickup; it is neither copied nor kept.

Retention period

Data is kept for as long as necessary for the purposes above, then for the periods required by law, in particular ten years for accounting records (Article L123-22 of the French Commercial Code). Loyalty programme data is kept as long as you are a member and the programme exists.

Recipients and processors

Shopify International Limited (Dublin, Ireland), which hosts the shop and processes orders, customer accounts and forms. Shopify may process some data outside the European Union, with the safeguards provided for by the GDPR; see Shopify’s privacy policy.
The payment provider used at checkout.
Smile.io, the application that manages the “Club de l’Écailler” loyalty programme: it processes the programme data described above on our behalf. See Smile.io’s privacy policy.

Cookies and third-party services

The website uses cookies necessary for it to work (cart, sign-in, security, chosen language). Audience measurement or advertising cookies are only set with your consent, which you can change at any time via the cookie preferences link at the bottom of the page.

The map on the Contact page is provided by Google Maps: it is only loaded if you click “Show the map”, and Google may then set its own cookies. Links to our Google reviews, our Facebook and Instagram pages or press articles open third-party websites, which are subject to their own privacy policies.

Your rights

You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability of your data, the right to withdraw your consent and to give instructions regarding your data after your death. To exercise them, write to contact@lecailler-cypriannais.fr. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr), or with the data protection authority of your country.
